PC7

President's Cup 7 will be held from January 2026 to April 2026. PC7 will feature a bold spy theme that fuses high-contrast minimalism with slick, shape-driven design, evoking the intrigue of espionage through modern execution. Inspired by classic spy tools and retro-futurist aesthetics, it will include sleek, coded visuals that command attention and conceal layers beneath the surface.

The sixth annual President's Cup ran from January 2025 to April 2025 and featured an edgy cyberpunk theme that took competitors on a journey through a neon-drenched, high-tech metropolis. The Finals were held in person in Tysons Corner, Virginia and the Teams Finals included an Industrial Control Systems ICScape Room for the second year in a row that had the competitors test their luck to escape from a locked-down island compound.

The fifth annual President's Cup ran from January 2024 to April 2024 and featured an exciting theme centered around several beloved video games, with competitors showing off their best cyber moves and stretching their skills. The Finals were held in person at CISA facilities, and the Teams Finals included a new Industrial Control Systems ICScape Room. This interactive escape room experience immersed participants in a fictional storyline where teams navigated through an intense scenario, completing various hands-on tasks such as finding hidden PLC equipment and installing a Ladder Logic and HMI display, to secure the scene and save the day.

The fourth annual President's Cup ran from August 2022 to December 2022 and had competitors blasting into orbit with a new space exploration theme. PC4 was packed with competitors from across the entire federal government, and the Finals were held in person for the first time in two years at CISA's Arlington facilities. The Teams Finals included a galaxy-traversing experience featuring sci-fi technology, aliens, and a race to restore balance to the universe.

The third annual President's Cup ran from August 2021 to December 2021 and featured a retro, 1980's-inspired theme and all new challenges based upon in-demand NICE Framework Work Roles. PC3 saw a significant increase in participation from the first two competitions, and the Finals were held virtually and livestreamed over the internet with live commentary provided by CISA's cybersecurity experts.

The second annual President's Cup Cybersecurity Competition ran from August 2020 to February 2021 and provided a new and improved experience for competitors. For the first time, Individuals were split into two tracks: Track A, focusing on defensive NICE Work Roles, and Track B, focusing on Offensive NICE Work Roles. The Teams Finals also included a new iteration of the escape room concept featuring a “Save the World” scenario in which teams responded to a weather-based crisis at a local municipality as part of a Disaster Relief Task Force (DRTF).

PC1

The first annual President's Cup Cybersecurity Competition ran from September to December 13, 2019, and drew more than 1,000 individuals and 200 teams. After two Qualifying Rounds, 10 Individuals finalists and five Teams finalists came to the Washington, D.C. area for the Finals at the CISA Cybersecurity Lab. The five teams were given a series of challenges to solve on the first day, followed by a virtual escape room on the second day. During the scenario, teams were given eight hours to solve a series of challenges from forensics to exploitation, culminating in gaining a password to an elevator to "escape."
